How to choose the right self-lubricating copper bushing or graphite copper bushing for your specific needs?
Author:admin | Release time:2024-10-10

Selecting the rightself-lubricating copper bushing or graphite copper bushing according to the specific needs can be considered from the following aspects:

Working environment:

Temperature conditions:

If the working environment temperature is high, graphite copper bushing is more suitable. Because graphite has good high temperature resistance, can still maintain a stable lubrication effect at high temperatures, its working temperature can be as high as 400 ℃ or so. Graphite copper sleeve can effectively deal with high temperature environment, if the working temperature is relatively low and stable, self-lubricating copper sleeve can also meet the needs of the temperature range is relatively narrow, generally below 200 ℃ to maintain good performance.

Lubrication conditions:

In difficult to refuel, long-term lack of oil or no oil environment, give priority to self-lubricating copper bushings or graphite copper bushings. They both have good self-lubricating properties, and can work normally in the absence of lubricating medium. In the narrow space, difficult to lubricate the maintenance of equipment parts, the use of self-lubricating copper bushings or graphite copper bushings can reduce maintenance costs and workload.

If there is an adequate supply of lubricant in the working environment and frequent refueling and maintenance is required, then ordinary copper bushings may be more suitable, because the additional lubricant can further improve the lubrication performance and service life of the copper bushings. However, if the cleanliness of the equipment is required to be high, and oil leakage and other problems are not desired, self-lubricating copper bushings or graphite copper bushings are better choices.

Corrosive environment:

If the equipment is in a corrosive environment, such as the presence of acids, alkalis, salts and other chemicals, graphite copper bushings have better corrosion resistance. Because the copper alloy matrix itself has a certain degree of corrosion resistance, coupled with the high chemical stability of graphite, can resist the erosion of chemical substances. The corrosion resistance of self-lubricating copper bushings, on the other hand, depends on the choice of its matrix material, and some self-lubricating copper bushings made of special materials may have better corrosion resistance, but in general, their performance in strong corrosive environments may not be as good as graphite copper bushings.

Load and speed:

Load condition:

For heavy loads, both graphite bronze bushings and self-lubricating bronze bushings have good load carrying capacity. However, if the load is particularly high, graphite bronze bushings have a more obvious advantage because of the high strength of its base material, which is able to withstand greater pressure. Self-lubricating bronze bushings also show good performance under moderate loads, but if the load exceeds its carrying range, it may lead to increased wear and shorter life of the bushings.

Speed requirements:

Both graphite bronze bushings and self-lubricating bronze bushings are suitable at low speeds and can reduce friction and wear at low speeds due to their self-lubricating properties. Especially in the reciprocating or oscillating motion, their self-lubricating characteristics can play a better role. At higher speeds, self-lubricating bronze bushings may be more suitable because of their relatively low coefficient of friction, which reduces the heat and wear generated by high-speed rotation. However, for extremely high speeds, specially designed high speed bearings may be required.

Precision requirements:

If the precision requirements of the equipment are high and the fit between the shaft and the bushing needs to be ensured, then self-lubricating bronze bushings may be more suitable. Because the self-lubricating copper bushing processing accuracy is relatively high, can meet the high precision requirements, and in the process of use is not easy to deformation, so as to ensure that the operating accuracy of the equipment.

copper bushing

Graphite copper bushing precision is relatively low, its main advantage lies in the self-lubricating performance and load-bearing capacity, for the very high precision requirements of the equipment, may not be able to meet the requirements. However, in some heavy-duty, low-speed equipment that does not require particularly strict precision, the performance advantages of graphite bronze bushings can be fully realized.
