How long is the service life of the copper sleeve of the crane?
Author:admin | Release time:2024-11-13

Affected by the load

The service life of the copper sleeve of the crane is closely related to the load it is subjected to. If the crane is often under full load or overloaded, the copper sleeve is subjected to excessive pressure, which will accelerate the wear and tear. For example, in heavy harbor cranes, the normal service life of the copper bushing may be around 3 - 5 years when lifting the rated weight of the goods; however, if it is often overloaded by 10% - 20%, the service life may be shortened to 1 - 2 years.

Influenced by operating speed

Operating speed is also a factor that affects the life of copper sleeve. Higher operating speed will increase the number of friction and friction heat between the bushing and the shaft. Like in the hoisting mechanism of a container crane running at high speed, the copper sleeve wears out much faster than in a small indoor crane running at low speed. Generally speaking, for normal speed operation of the crane copper sleeve, the life span may be 2 - 4 years, while for high speed operation, it may be only 1 - 3 years.

Affected by lubrication conditions

Good lubrication is the key to prolonging the life of the bushing. If the lubrication system works properly and provides sufficient and suitable lubricant to the copper sleeve on a regular basis, the service life of the sleeve will be significantly extended. For example, in cranes with good lubrication management, bushing life may reach 4 - 6 years. On the contrary, if the lubrication is poor, such as insufficient lubricant, deterioration or contamination, the copper sleeve may be in just a few months to 1 year will show serious wear.

Influenced by the working environment

The operating environment has a significant impact on bushing life. In harsh environments, such as high temperature, humidity, corrosive gases or dust, copper bushings are more prone to corrosion and wear. For example, cranes in metallurgical factories, due to the high ambient temperature and a large amount of metal dust, the service life of copper bushing may only be 2 - 3 years; while in the ordinary warehouse environment of the crane copper bushing, the service life may reach 3 - 5 years.
